Tattoo Removal

admin » 30 May 2009 » In Tattoos » No Comments

Everyone does something in their life that they regret, and one of those things could be a tattoo, or part of a tattoo. There are many reasons that a tattoo may not work for you anymore. Probably one of the most popular reasons for tattoo removal is that you got a tattoo that reminded you of someone you loved, but that isn’t the case anymore. Or perhaps you thought the idea of a cobra coiled around your neck seemed cool when you were 18, but now you are having trouble getting an office job.

Whatever the reason is, you have a problem, but there is a solution. Tattoo removal has advanced over the last few years and now there are several options available, depending on the size and placement of your tattoo, your tolerance for pain, and of course your budget.

Laser Removal

Using lasers to remove a tattoo is one of the most common methods available today. The laser works by concentrating a beam of light on the tattoo, which breaks up the pigment into tiny fragments which are then absorbed by the bloodstream.

It can take quite a few treatments to fully eradicate a tattoo, and each treatment will penetrate deeper into the skin, causing scabbing, blistering and of course pain. With advancements in technology the resulting scar is minimal, but it of course varies by treatment.

This type of treatment isn’t easy on the pocketbook though, with each session costing $250-850 and up to ten sessions required.

Intense Pulsed Light Therapy

IPL is one of the newest types of dermal enhancement out there, and offers a superior tattoo removal method than lasers. IPL uses high intensity light pulses much like lasers, but also uses a gel to focus on the area being treated.

This method is said to be less painful than lasers and is also more effective, meaning that less total treatments are required. On the flipside IPL treatments cost quite a bit more than laser, up to $10 per pulse, meaning that the overall treatment likely is going to cost more.

Other Methods

There are still a few older methods of tattoo removal around, but for the most part they have been replaced by laser and light therapy since these new methods are more effective and less painful. Dermabrasion is still one method available, which basically scrubs away the top layer of skin, or the tattoo wearer could opt to have the tattoo cut out and the skin sewn back together. As you can imagine these methods cause significant scarring.

Removal Creams

Various companies offer creams that are said to remove tattoos; however most of their claims have gone unproven. These creams are supposed to gradually fade the tattoo over several months. While not cheap ($125 for a 2 month supply) they are certainly more affordable than laser or IPL so they may be worth a try.

Do your research before you commit to a product, and try to find out if you can get your money back if it doesn’t work.

Saline

If you have an older tattoo you may be able to get it removed or at least faded by having a tattoo artist use saline to tattoo you with saline. Basically the saline is applied with the tattoo needle where the old ink is. While this is not a guaranteed method, it costs less than most of the other removal options, but you may have trouble finding a tattoo artist who does this.

Cover Up

If none of these options seem good to you, you may want to consider simply having your tattoo covered up with a new tattoo. The tattoo artist can work with you to find a design that you like that masks the unwanted elements of your old tattoo, and the price is usually the same as getting a new tattoo so it is easier on the wallet.

Keep in mind that there are limitations to a tattoo cover up. You will not be able to cover a black ink tattoo with anything other than black ink, but lighter tattoos have more options. Make sure that the tattoo artist you choose is experienced in covering up tattoos and can show you pictures to prove it.

Celebrities Love Tattoos

admin » 30 May 2009 » In Tattoos » No Comments

It is not really amazing to learn that many celebrities love tattoos, nor is it surprising that those who are in the public eye and in the media have quite a considerable influence on the general people’s fascination with tattoos. The stars have tattoos, so all of their fans want tattoos too. For celebrities, age is not a factor; older as well as the younger ones have them. We know all of these people– but do we also know about what unique styles of artwork they have?

One of America’s most popular movie stars, Robert DeNiro, has made an appearance in movies, sporting numerous tattoos. Whether or not his fans realize that they are only accessories, and he uses Temporary Tattoos for his films. The fact is in real life Robert DeNiro has only one Real Tattoo, that of a black panther. Another actor who shows off many tattoos in his movies is Johnny Depp; all of his, however, are real. Bruce Willis also has a few tattoos; most notably the symbol of his movie “Die Hard.”

Tattoos have also been in style with many noted musicians. Former teen idol Justin Timberlake has a guardian angel, and a few more. Rapper Eminem has more tattoos than countable, including his daughter’s name and his own.

Some sports celebrities also vouch for tattoos. Michael Jordan has his fraternity symbol tattooed above his chest, while Dennis Rodman is a virtual canvas of artwork.

Not to be defeated, many female stars also show off various degrees of artwork. Young actress Drew Barrymore is essentially a canvas full of tattoos; it is believed that she designed them herself. Reese Witherspoon is more understated, wearing only one small star tattoo which is rarely visible. Pamela Anderson too has a variety of tattoos, the most notable being the word ‘Mommy’ on one finger, which reportedly used to read ‘Tommy.’ Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has five stars to represent each member of her family, her husband’s initials, and the time-honored Jewish phrase ‘I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine.’

Some of today’s supermodels who also sport tattoos are Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, and Stephanie Seymour. All of them use Tattoos as a temporary form of fashion accessories. Most supermodels who opt for tattoos show fewer and smaller designs than celebrities in other fields.

While many celebrities have had tattoos for a very long time, the popularity of tattoos amongst stars has been ever-increasing, both in the number of celebrities who opt for them and the number of tattoos that they have. A very few have only permanent tattoo; more and more are taking on a large number of different temporary tattoos like Water Transfer , Glitter, Crystal Tattoos. Out of these, crystal tattoos are the most popular amongst women, as it adds a dash of glamour to their personality.

As celebrities show off their tattoos, and this is picked up by the media, it presents a growing influence for their fans, especially amongst the younger generation, who want to ape them. As with anything else that stars do in the public eye, their influence with tattoos helps this form of artwork become more prevalent, more popular, and more acceptable to most of the people.

Marina Del Rey: See How the Other Half Lives

admin » 30 May 2009 » In Foot Tattoos » No Comments

Looking for a place to stay in L.A.? Try Marina del Rey, an ideal choice for a getaway or vacation with its swanky hotels, nearby water recreation and more restaurants in one square mile than even New York City.

Marina del Rey also happens to be located just minutes from such popular L.A. tourist areas as Venice Beach and trendy Santa Monica, a kind of nirvana for shoppers who love perusing the upscale boutiques and one-of-a-kind shops while never going further than a couple of blocks from the sea.

On our latest trip to the area, we headquartered at Marina del Rey, stepping up to the Ritz-Carlton for one of those this-is-how-the-other-half-lives weekend adventures. We got a good dose of L.A. chic and had fun pretending we were bigshots who could actually afford to live at the marina. “On the water” for us didn’t mean chartering one of the 6,000 or so small boats and yachts in the harbor; it was paddling a couple of kayaks in and around the marina which, as it turned out, was probably just as much fun.

Marina del Rey is situated about 14 miles west of Los Angeles, a fairly quick freeway drive west on the 10 freeway, which intersects with both I-405 and I-5. But be careful not to arrive during rush hour – the 10 seizes up with traffic to the point you’ll feel like you’re crawling that last 14 miles.

The marina was first conceived as far back as 1887 when real estate developer M. C. Wicks envisioned turning the Playa del Rey estuary into a major commercial harbor. But Marina del Rey wasn’t completed until 1965 following decades of problems with funding, storm damage and other issues.

Today, the marina is not only home to the L.A. boating crowd, but it’s also a popular destination for day-trippers, weekend visitors and a steady clientele of business travelers. The marina is surrounded by high-rise condos, hotels, apartments, shops, and restaurants. The area’s waterfront parks make ideal picnic spots.

With its panoramic views of marina, the Ritz-Carlton was the perfect choice to soak up the flavor of the marina. Everything’s close to the Ritz so it proved quite convenient just to park our vehicle at the hotel and explore the marina on foot. The Ritz-Carlton features amenities you find in the finest resort hotels including a resort-style swimming pool practically right next to the luxury yachts in the marina. An outdoor restaurant called the Wave is a great way to enjoy the nautical ambience, while we especially enjoyed dinner at the indoor-outdoor Jer-ne Restaurant under the direction of Chef Chad Minton, who serves prime meats free from hormones and locally caught seafood.

Our room on the sixth floor not only gave us picture-postcard views of the marina, but also of the neighborhoods to the west and north of the marina. Our standard room was over-sized, had two queen beds, and offered plenty of space for the three of us – two parents, one eight-year-old. The room’s stylish décor was done in beige, gold and blue tones and included a modest-size LCD TV. A luxurious mahogany desk offered plenty of space to set up our laptop and conduct a little business. Marble floors and countertops highlighted the bath area, while a selection of Bvlgari products included soaps, shampoos, creams and, in general, the largest assortment of personal grooming aids we had seen outside of a department store.

The 1.5-square-mile marina is large enough that you will get some exercise walking the perimeter, not to mention the workout your arms will get if you follow in our footsteps and rent some kayaks from Marina del Rey Boat Rentals. They offer a wide variety of craft, including motorboats, but we chose to get a little bit of a workout by cruising the marina at water-level. No need to worry about falling in — the rental company has a kayak launch area on its dock where you just get in your kayak while it’s still on the dock and they shove your boat into the water. Coming back, same story – they bring your kayak up on the dock and you disembark right on the dock.

This kayak trip proved to be a highlight of our day. Paddling these kayaks through Marina del Rey was especially rewarding on a blue-sky, bright-sunshine day. The channels are wide and the boat traffic was light, so there was never a navigation issue. We got a water’s-eye view of some of the fanciest yachts on the West Coast while enjoying the seabirds, seals and other wildlife that pop up every now and then in these bright blue waters. And there’s plenty of marina to explore – you could spend all day paddling up and down each finger of the marina, although our two hours was just about right for arms and shoulders not used to a lot of paddling.

You can also avoid paddling altogether and still see the marina up close and personal. There are small tour boats that will take you through the many channels, tell you some Marina del Rey history and show you some boats owned by some very famous people.

A visit to Marina del Rey would not be complete without a side trip to Venice Beach, one of California’s most famous beach areas. It’s just a couple of miles from the marina to Venice, but the culture change is like going to a different continent – at least coming from the Ritz-Carlton. We were temporary members of the yachting class and then, 10 minutes later, we were seeing the first real group of hippies we’d seen since the early 1970’s.

Venice Beach, to be fair, is not all hippies and, in fact, has a crowd that is just about as diverse as you can find. From young people on skateboards to stylishly dressed young professionals to retirees to tattooed remnants of the Vietnam era, the boardwalk in Venice will show you life from every angle. Stroll the wide walkway and you’ll cruise by tee-shirt shops, pipe shops, bikini shops, body piercing shops. You’ll hear music all along the way as you journey through music history from the Beatles to Hendrix to Jamaican reggae.

The folks who come down to Venice are doing it for the ambience and/or exercise. They’re roller skating, bicycling, running, dog-walking or just strolling. They’re dressed in everything from business suits to bikinis. Some will stop and have a pizza, a burger or a hot dog, or do a little shopping in markets that offer handbags, luggage, jewelry, carvings, incense, oils and many items you can’t even imagine. And, of course, everyone loves the beach, which is about as wide and inviting as any in the area.

Venice Beach turned out to be the perfect complement to Marina del Rey. If you want to experience some real coastal energy, the waterfront area that includes Marina del Rey may be just the place to find everything you need.

AT A GLANCE

WHERE: Marina del Rey is about 14 miles southwest of Los Angeles city center, and less than a mile from Los Angeles International Airport. It’s adjacent to Venice Beach, and Santa Monica also is close by.

WHAT: Marina del Rey is home to 6,000 boats and is surrounded by high-rise condos, hotels, apartments, shops, and restaurants.

WHEN: Any time of year. The coastal breezes keep the area temperate even when the hottest part of summer arrives, and the sun shines even in winter.

WHY: Location, location, location. Marina del Rey not only has its own nautical charm, but nearby beach communities offer plenty of shopping and people-watching.

HOW: For more information on Marina del Rey, contact the Marina del Rey Convention and Visitors Bureau at 310-305-9545 or go to www.visitmarinadelrey.com. For information on the Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey, phone 800-241-3333 or visit www.ritzcarlton.com.

The Appeal Of Having Lower Back Tattoos

admin » 30 May 2009 » In Lower Back Tattoos » No Comments

It’s really not hard to see why lower back tattoos have become so very well-liked over the years. On a woman’s body there are a few places that can be thought of as sensual. Though this varies from culture to culture, most consider the sensitive areas to be the nape of the neck and the infamous lower back.

Although women have numerous areas for tattoos, the lower back is one of the most erotic and sensual areas they can get tattooed. Lower back tattoos are easy to cover up as well, which is great for those who aren’t allowed to wear tattoos at their workplace. Unlike other areas of the body, the lower back is utterly covered up by a shirt. With the lower back you only show the tattoo off when you want to.

The ease to show or hide lower back tattoos has helped to intensify it’s popularity, also as the desire, or sensuality. As long as a woman tells someone, especially a man, that she has a lower back tattoo the mind commonly wanders. Lower back tattoos bring forth a sensual and tantalizing appeal.

As a rule, these tattoos are done around the waist line. Whilst part of it may be hidden by a women’s swimming suit there may very well be a component of it showing too. For lovers, a lower back tattoo can be very sensual and sexual, a secret that is shared just between the two.

The assorted designs and shape of the tattoo will very often enhance both the look and the appeal of the complete lower back area. The set up of the tattoo is conventionally a small and shallow curvature that enables it to fit perfectly to the curves of the female back and natural curves of her hips. The lower back tattoo helps to accentuate a breathtaking component of the female anatomy and enhance an area that is well known for its sensuality.

Well-liked designs for lower back tattoos embody flowers, vines, and stars. Winged creature designs work really well as the wings of the monster can stretch his wings across the whole lower back region. Angels, dragonflies, and birds also appear to enhance the lower back area really well. You can add natural designs to the creatures too, including plants and flowers. The lower back is a great area for tattoos giving you an unlimited possibility to use your imagination.

Though there are a lot of options and designs accessible, you should usually choose one that you can appreciate for the rest of your life. You ought to always give thought to a design, and not pick something because it’s appealing at the time. Instead, you had better look into the thought and meaning of the tattoo and decide if it’s something you can see yourself with for life. The meaning behind a tattoo is significant, both recently and later on in life. While you check out designs, you should always pick the one that literally calls out to you.

Before you decide to get a lower back tattoo, you should always check out numerous designs first and foremost, and then choose the best one for you. If you can’t find an outline that you like, you can always have an expert tattoo artist create one for you. This way, you can carry a tattoo detail created for what you desire. Although a custom outline may cost a bit more initially it’s truly worth it if you want a distinctive and creative design detail that enhances the look of your lower back tattoos.

Do you Want your Tattoo Removed, the Laser Way?

admin » 30 May 2009 » In Tattoos » No Comments

Laser tattoo removal

Laser tattoo removal works on the principle of selective thermolysis where the targeted tattoo is exposed to the energy delivered by laser. This energy exposure results in selective destruction of the foreign pigment while ensuring minimum damage to the surrounding skin.

Lasers can be applied to remove all sorts of tattoos be it professional, amateur, cosmetic, medicinal, and traumatic tattoos. The different colors present in the tattoos may respond differently to laser tattoo removal, but they do get removed to quite some extent. Thus laser tattoo removal presents itself as a non-invasive and effective treatment for unwanted tattoos.

The right candidate

Anyone with a need to remove an undesired tattoo can opt for laser tattoo removal. It is not the person’s physical characteristics which decide the extent of removal but the colors used. Though most tattoo colors can be eliminated or lightened more or less, skin colored tattoos may undergo irreversible ink darkening. This may be the case with white, pink, flesh-toned and light brown tattoo inks. Also red ink tattoos may turn black. In these situations do ask or say yes to a test dose.

Some Facts

Although, laser tattoo removal for sure is the best solution to the unwanted tattoo woes; it has got its warts which need to be kept in mind. Some of them are:

1. Since results are color dependent total elimination is not possible, however you can be sure of dramatic lightening. Amateur black tattoos respond more quickly than professional and multicolored tattoos.

2. To get maximum benefit multiple sessions are usually required.

3. Doubly treated tattoos may require additional treatments.

4. If the tattoo is multicolored, it would require exposure to lasers of several different wavelengths because of the selective absorption characteristics of a particular color.

Types of lasers used

Q-switched Ruby Laser (QSRL)

It is a red colored laser which works best for dark blue and black inks. With tattoos in these colors, results have been exceptional. So far as red and yellow color is concerned results have been less than satisfactory. The response of green tattoos is variable. The QSRL is also effective in treating medicinal and traumatic tattoos.

Q-switched Nd:YAG

This laser works both for amateur and professional tattoos of all colors. But best results have been observed in case of black tattoos, as is the case with the ruby laser. Moreover this laser works quite well for darker skinned individuals. Also unlike QSRL, which is ineffective in case of red and yellow color, Q-switched Nd:YAG is highly effective for these colors in frequency doubled setting (532 nm).

Q-switched Alexandrite Laser

This laser is quite like QSRL in treating tattoos especially when treating green tattoos. However up to 50% of patients can experience textural changes in their skin after treatment.

Flashlamp-pumped Pulsed Dye Laser

This laser does not penetrate deep into skin because of its wavelength which is 510 nm. Hence it is not so useful when it comes to deeper tattoos. However, it is effective for the treatment of brightly colored tattoos such as those that use red, purple, and orange inks. The major side effect of this laser is bruising.

Post-procedural Care

After the procedure some swelling and blistering is commonplace, so is crusting. So don’t panic they will go by themselves after some time. Do take good care of the wound to aid the healing process and to prevent infection.

To ensure fast and safe healing, make use of prescribed antibiotic ointment with regular dressing changes. If you feel the need of alleviating any resultant pain, consult the physician to recommend you some pain killer. Also avoid exposure to sun to prevent tanning.

Conclusion

Laser tattoo removal has brought an effective, less painful solution to people who want to get their tattoos removed or faded.

Trampoline – Great Way To Keep Your Fitness

admin » 30 May 2009 » In Foot Tattoos » No Comments

found the way to enjoy doing sport. Most of us spending most of their time sitting during the day or laying on bed during the night. We hardly move ourselves, day after day we are getting into a routine of not doing even a little. So, with a lot of pangs of conscience we are deciding to start tomorrow sport, diet ect. But in fact we’re not. Even if we start there never is a continuous. Well I found the trampoline!!! It is so enjoyable and most importent – healthy!!

This is what I foundout: What’s a trampoline for if not to have fun on? Sure enough, trampoline exercise routines are good for people who avoid gyms like the plague and are bored by normal, mundane routines. A trampoline is easy to use and gentle on the joints, while also being fun to work out on. Rebounding, which is what trampoline exercise is called, is easy on your joints as well as adaptable to your pace and intensity.

What is most important is that you are well-adjusted to the feel of your trampoline before you begin using it in earnest and that you are fully comfortable working out on it.

Follow the tips given below to make the most out of your trampoline: Remember to always wear comfortable, non-slip shoes when using the trampoline Test out your trampoline, get your body used to it before you start exercising properly Start with a warm-up routine for about five minutes at a slow-to-moderate pace, if you are a beginner. Your muscles need to get used to rebounding. This is a good warm-up and cool-down exercise: from a basic starting stance, alternately lift your heels. Do not lift your toes off the trampoline and swing your arms as you would while walking. To raise your heart rate and begin strenuous exercise, alternately lift each foot an inch or two off the trampoline. Move your arms as you would while jogging.

For a slightly more difficult workout, stand in the center of the trampoline with your feet close together. Instead of doing a basic bounce, bring your left foot forward during the bounce, touching your heel to the surface. Briefly raise your left arm up in front of you as your heel touches the surface. Repeat this for the right foot. For another advanced routine, from a basic starting stance, bounce up. As you bounce, spread your feet apart and bring your hands over your head. Compared to a regular jumping jack done on a hard surface, bouncing on a trampoline makes this exercise easier on the joints.

Megan Fox Bashes Tattoo Haters

admin » 29 May 2009 » In Tattoo Flash » No Comments

I know that I have already done a Megan Fox post on the Wednesday edition of Celebrity Tattoos. But none the less I had to write another post about her because she is bashing critics who claim that her tattoos are trashy. Megan has also stated that she will cover her whole body in tattoos just to spite these critics.

Megan said

“Everyone hates them because they’re closed-minded about tattoos. People who don’t like me, as far as fans go, always talk about how I’m trashy because I have tattoos. I find that insane! This is 2008, not 1950. Tattoos aren’t limited to sailors. I find them beautiful, so I’m going to keep doing it.”

I will admit that I do agree with Megan this isn’t 1950 anymore and regular people including hot Hollywood actress have tattoos and most of the time have more than one. But I will say that her choices in some of her tattoos are a little interesting. That Marilyn Monroe tattoo she has on her arm sticks out like a sore thumb. But her other eight tattoos, in my opinion are not trashy at all. I really believe that it is okay to have a lot of tattoos on your body, as long as you carry yourself well and have confidence in yourself. I think that makes your tattoos become kind of sexy and not trashy at all. There are plenty other celebrities out there that have 5 or 6 tattoos and they are as pretty and sexy as they can be. And not to mention most people don’t even know that they have that many tattoos.

Kids And Tattoos

admin » 29 May 2009 » In Tattoo Flash » No Comments

I know I wrote a post earlier this week about letting your children get a tattoo when they are of age. But I wanted to touch on this topic as well. First of all when your children are little and beg you to put a temporary tattoo on them you do it without thinking twice. But is the only reason you do this is because you know it will wash off in a couple of days? I mean yes I understand that real tattoos and temporary tattoos are not the same thing by all means. But if you are not careful your children may fall in love so much with those temporary tattoos that they will want a real one when they turn 18. So my question is to everyone out there, should you let your children where temporary tattoos if you have a problem with them wanting to get a real one, one day?

I for one will vouch for this. I always wanted a tattoo since I was like 8 or so. And of course I always wanted to wear temporary tattoos because I wanted one so bad. And in case you are wondering, yes I wear temporary tattoos until I got my real one. So parents you may want to think twice about wetting down the temporary tattoo and applying it to your child’s skin because the next words that come out of their mouth could be, ” I want a real tattoo.” I guess  you can hope they either grow out of it or forget about it. But if your kids are like me they will have that love for tattoos their whole life.

The history of the Celtic people goes back for thousands of years. They have always been regarded as fierce warriors and were regarded as a formidable foe by the Romans. All over Ireland, there are many examples Celtic artwork and crosses. The Celtic people were also renowned for their skills in jewelry, metal, and even weapons as well as artwork. People from an Irish, Scottish and Welsh descent find a Celtic tattoo to be an expression of the their Celtic ancestry and heritage, as a way of paying tribute to their ancestors and to let others know that they are a Celtic descent. Celtic tattoo designs are notorious difficult to ink and can often take over seven hours.

It is difficult to interpret the meaning behind the many knots patterns found in Celtic tattoos as there is no literal translation. It is thought that the interweaving of the knots expresses the repeated crossing of spiritual and physical elements. The strands and represent life, love, and faith or to symbolize the never ending cycle of dying and rebirth.

The History of Tattoos

admin » 29 May 2009 » In Tattoos » No Comments

Tattoos have been popular for thousands of years. Although the process may have changed some over the decades, the reasons for getting a tattoo may not have changed. All around the world, you can find people with tattoos and this widespread popularity is what makes the tattoo world so varied in design and styles. Where did the tattoo practice begin?

Even as early as the Neolithic period (Stone Age), tattoos were found in Eurasia. Ortiz the Iceman, that was found in the Alps frozen, had 57 tattoos on his body that consisted of simple dots and lines. These early tattoos were the precursor to our tattoos today. Tattoos in Japan were found as many as ten thousand years ago. These first tattoos were most likely made from making cuts in the skin and rubbing the wounds with soot or ashes. After the cuts healed, the remaining color made up their tattoos.

These early tattoos most likely marked some rite of passage that the person had gone through. From acts of bravery to marks of status and rank to pledges of love to punishment and more, these tattoos marked the events of life that the early people had went through. They also signified membership of a particular tribe or ethnic group. This symbolism that was so popular in early times can still be found in many tattoo choices today.

Tattoos were used during the Holocaust to identify the Jews that were in the concentration camps, but they were used for other identification needs as well. Maori chiefs used their facial tattoo that described their identification as their signature on official documents.

This early use of tattoos to mark rites of passage or for identification has grown into more of an art form today. Tattoo artists today are known for their intricate artwork that they apply to the body. Many of these artists have fine art or technical art training, which serves them well in creating body art. Tattoos may be chosen to mark a rite of passage or for identification even today, but tattoos found today are normally more intricate and colorful than the early tattoos.

Due to the widespread exposure to the tattoo world via television and other media, tattooing has seen an increased popularity in the United States and other countries. This popularity has in turn caused the choices of tattoos and tattoo shops to increase as well. You can find a tattoo artist to create anything that you can imagine to add to your body as art.

While the history of tattooing can go back to the Stone Age and the reasons can be much the same as they were then, there has been quite a change in the procedure and detail of tattoos today. This dedication to detailing and beauty has made tattooing even more popular with people. Whether you want to mark a life happening or just add a bit of personality and beauty to your body, you will find that a tattoo can fit your wants and needs.

The Growing popularity of the Art Tattoo

Since times dating back to over five thousands years ago, people have been fascinated by the art tattoo. Historians and archeologist believe that our ancestors developed the means most likely by accident. When they realized that the marks were permanent, they developed it into a practiced art form, a ritualized marking that has continued today.

Here are a few common tattooing styles:

Gemini tattoo art

Firefighter tattoo art

Viking tattoo art

Bull tattoo art

Military tattoo art

Tiki tattoo art

yin yang tattoo art

Aztec tattoo art

Celtic art tattoo

Chicano tattoo art

The art tattoo has come into popular culture in many forms. Ancient ritualized markings denoting caste levels, honor to various gods and goddesses as well as accomplishments have found themselves at the end of a tattoo machine for the modern human canvas as a way to show personal expression.

Early tattoos have been discovered on every populated continent and group of people ranging from Polynesia to Native Americans and Vikings. Early explorers discovered the mummified bodies of ancient Egyptians elected for many years to not make the discovery of tattoos known to the public due to the negative reaction that it might generate. This nondisclosure was not made public until 1891.

They have found themselves at the end of a tattoo machine for the modern human canvas as a way to show personal expression in body art.

Whereas in many cultures tattooing was solely reserved for warriors, the Egyptians practiced the art tattoo for women in service to the Gods and Goddesses. This spirituality is one of the more common reasons for tattooing. They believed that by paying homage with the body, it assured the wearer a more devoted retribution from their chosen deity and a greater chance for a rewarding afterlife.

For many the art tattoo represents a wilder side to their personality. Perhaps a bit of rebellion against the expected norms of a more staid and traditional society that looks upon a tattoo with wariness as the stigma associated with the art tattoo is not as widely spread to the more conservative. There are other individuals who use the tattoo as a means of remembrance for fallen family and friends or as a spiritual guide for their lives.

An art tattoo may still be considered a mark of stigma for older generations. This is especially true of more conservative individuals in their latter years of life. Even middle aged individuals find themselves regretting the tokens of their past and are turning to laser tattoo removal as a way to erase those memories. Younger generations are enthralled with the idea of ink marking their rites of passage from childhood to adulthood.

The art tattoo has reached a new level acceptance due to television shows such as TLC’s Miami Ink. Viewers watch individuals of all walk’s of life coming into the parlor to become etched with ink. Some are dedicated works of art depicting lost loved ones or as a tribute to special people in the tattooed person’s life. The reasons are many and the tattoo machine, throughout the world, is working overtime
