Innovative Tribal Tattoo Designs

Innovative Tribal Designs

In the world of tattoo designs there are thousands of potential tattoos to choose from.  Each and every day, there are new designs added to studios and online tattoo websites.  Tattoos are becoming more and more popular these days, making the designs all the more important.  Although flowers and other designs are popular, tribal designs seem to be among the most common.

The one thing that sticks out with tribal tattoos is the innovation. Tribal tattoos feature unique artwork, with most being more or less solid black with no other colors.  Tribal can have several different meanings as well, as it all depends on the image that the artist is trying to bring to life.  Tribal can either be a design that the artist already had or the artist can take your feedback and do the entire tattoo freehand as he goes along.  Experienced tattoo artists can normally do great work freehand – as it gives you the ability to make changes as he goes along.

Some of the most popular designs with tribal tattoos include skulls and letters.  Unique designs are also very popular, especially those that wrap around the arms or the back.  Tribal can be put virtually anywhere on the body, just like any other tattoo.  Depending on the tattoo design you have in mind, it may take quite a few hours before the artist has finished.  With the larger tattoos, you may need to come back to have the work finished.

Before you decide to get a tribal tattoo, you’ll first need to decide on the design.  If you don’t have an idea in mind, this can take you quite a bit of time.  You can look online for some ideas, or look at some of the already made designs at your local tattoo studio.  If you see something that you like but you want to be a bit more creative, you can always add to the design.  For example if you see a tribal skull design that you like, you can make it bigger or change just about anything in the tattoo design that would make it unique for you.

If you want the entire tattoo to be unique and creative, you can always have your tattoo artist draw the entire tattoo from scratch.  You can give input as well if you want, to ensure that the design matches what you have in mind.  Drawing a custom tattoo can take anywhere from an hour to several hours, depending on the size and detail of the tattoo.  Tribal tattoos that have a lot of detail can be a bit complex, both to draw and to tattoo.  No matter what you have in mind for your design – you can rest assured that it can be accomplished with tribal design tattoos.

How the Cost of Tattoos Varies

admin » 16 May 2009 » In Tattoos » No Comments

Looking to get a tattoo? Not sure about the cost of the tattoo? You should be aware that the price of a new tattoo varies greatly and does not start cheap. Demand for tattoos has increased the number of tattoo artists available but is not more than the demand for them so the prices hold steady or even increase. It’s expensive to get a tattoo, but it will last forever. How many products or services can say that today? That brings up an important point however, that your choice in a tattoo artist should not be based on cost but rather it should be based on the safety and quality of the tattoo professional.

Tattoo artists make their money usually in one of two manners. Either the tattoo artist will charge by the hour or by the job performed. Keep in mind there are often minimum charges for any work done, so make sure you get what you want and not just the smallest design available. Tattoo artists that charge by the hour average between seventy-five and one hundred fifty dollars per hour, some high demand tattoo artists will obviously charge even more. Most tattoos will have a base line around fifty dollars and can go up into the thousands of dollars over several tattoo sessions, depending on the tattoo design. A base is necessary even for the very small tattoos done since the cost and preparation of the equipment must be factored in.

Cost dependent factors include the location of the tattoo, the intricate details of the design, how many colors are used, the size, custom vs. copy or the time needed to complete the design. The location effects cost in that some places are easier to tattoo than others, for example a smooth shoulder is easier than the curvy lower back and requires the artist to go slower and take care in adapting to the shape in the body while placing the ink. The more details of a design is a rather obvious increase in cost, since more details will require more time to be spent on the image created. Colors affect the price of a tattoo, not in comparison to a black or gray image as some think, but how much color or how many colors will be needed for the art.

More coloring again requires more time on the design and the more variety in colors raises cost and time spent on the artist’s part. The size of a tattoo is another obvious cost increase as the design gets larger, which takes more time in inking the design to skin. Custom work will require the artist to take time to create, draw and adjust the image even before the design is applied to the skin. An image copied from a printed image will be much cheaper than custom work since it is less labor-intensive.

Please do not focus on the cost as much as the quality and safety of the business and artist that performs the tattoo work. It is your decision on where that line between quality and cost meet. Some tattoo artists will do above average work but will cost a lot more for their talent too. Other tattoo parlors may charge very little in the standards of the tattoo industry but their work will be below average and even dangerous if they do not practice safe handling and sanitizing methods. It all depends on your final result and in the tattoo industry you really do get what you pay for.

The Easiest Ways to Buy Tattoo Designs

admin » 03 May 2009 » In Tattoo Designs » No Comments

are many factors that you need to consider when you want to buy tattoo designs. Getting a tattoo is an intensely personal decision, and the type of tattoo you want to get, even more so! So it’s integral that you think deeply about the type of tattoo you want to get, its connotations as well as what it symbolizes!

Getting a tattoo is remarkably easy and cheap, compared to losing one. So it’s important that you think about what you’re getting into, and do some research to determine the ideal tattoo design for your body as well as your personality.

The first thing to consider when you’re looking to buy tattoo designs is the size of the tattoos. Bigger tattoos tend to have more detail, compared to smaller ones, and take up more space on your body. A bigger tattoo, supposedly for an upper arm or chest is likely to be more detailed than a tattoo meant for your forearm or thumb. Also, when you buy tattoo designs, look at the intricacies of the tattoo, and judge whether it can be done or not. An experienced tattoo artist can advice you on what will or will not last.

Your tattoo will obviously look sharp and perfect as soon as it has been inked onto your body, but the finer detail lines may blur as the ink bleeds after some time. This can be avoided if you know a good tattoo artist, who knows what he’s doing and can minimize this.

Also, before you buy tattoo designs, it is important that you consider the colors that the tattoo design requires. People who are darker will have difficulty with white colors, which may bleed and over the course of time, disappear, making for distorted tattoo designs. However, fair skinned people seem to have no problems with white ink. So you need to discuss your options with your tattoo artist, and in some cases, you might even have to opt for a different tattoo design.

Last but not least, you need to keep in mind that your tattooist is likely to have a particular approach to tattooing before you buy tattoo designs. Visit various tattoo parlors with your design of choice, and check out the designs they have done in the past before you choose a tattoo artist. Always go for one who has done more work in the tattoo design style that you want, be it floral scrolling, multicolor, tribal art or intrinsic art work. Communicate clearly and honestly with the tattoo artist of your choice, and do not be roped into something that is not of your choice.

So before you buy tattoo designs, bear in mind all the above options, and choose the perfect one for you. Do your homework! All the best!
