Try Looking Through a Tattoo Design Book Before You Choose a Design

admin » 16 May 2009 » In Tattoo Designs » No Comments

If you are considering having a tattoo done you may want to look through a tattoo design book before you make your choice. There are literally tens of thousands different styles of tattoos available and you really want to take your time when making a decision, as it is permanent. Where do you find these books, what are the benefits of looking through them, and what can you tell from them are all good things to know before you head to the tattoo parlor.

Finding a tattoo design book is quite easy. You can search online and there are thousand that you can buy and download directly on to your computer. You might be a bit surprised but you can also find these types of books in your local library and if your library does not have one they can get them for you from a nearby library so don’t be afraid to ask. Many book stores and department stores that have a book section also offer these tattoo books so you have many options when you need to find tattoo design choices.

One of the best places to find a design book is at the tattoo parlor that you have chosen to complete your tattoo. This will give you a chance to see all the tattoos that the artists there are capable of doing. You can also see what type of work they do and if it is in fact the quality of work you are looking for. Almost every artist will have a book with their tattoo designs in them so make sure you ask to see it.

Another really good reason to look through a design book is that many times people see tattoos on other people that they would also like to have, however if you cannot explain it the tattoo artist will have a difficult time recreating the design. If you can find the picture or the likeness in a design book then your tattoo artist should have no problems duplicating the design. This will make the artist’s job a lot easier and you will be much more pleased with the results.

Once you have decided on a choice for your tattoo you may have some questions about the actual process. First let me say it does hurt. The degree of pain really depends on your pain tolerance and many find it just uncomfortable and others will find it intolerable. Once you have chosen your design the artist will place the design in a machine that will transfer the design on to a special type of paper that will be pressed against your skin. This will leave an impression of the design on your skin so you can see what it is going to look like and then the artist will trace it and fill in the design with color. So when you are looking for the type of tattoo you want start with a tattoo design book, you can find them anywhere, they will help you choose your artist and they will help guarantee that you will like the outcome.

Man Offers His Skin For Tattoo Practice

admin » 12 May 2009 » In Tattoo Flash » No Comments

I for one don’t really agree with this. This man is offering his body to any Tom, Dick or Harry that wants to become a tattoo artist. This could really turn into some thing bad if this guy isn’t careful. Tattooing is a serious business and should not be taken lightly. There is a lot more to tattooing that just turning on the tattoo gun and start “drawing” on someones skin. For instance they may not know how deep your are suppose to go before you get to your second layer of skin, which is wear tattoos are suppose to be. Also there is a high chance of cross-contamination or blood-borne pathogens or sterilization.

Just in case you are wondering this man has placed an ad on Craiglist offering his body to a hopeful tattoo artist to basically practice on him. The main reason I believe this man is doing this is to get free tattoos. He currently has 2 tattoos and said he would love to have his whole torso covered in them and this way would be perfect because he could get inked for free. But has he even thought for a second that these “free tattoos” he will be getting may not be all that great. After all the person is “practicing” and we all know that practice makes perfect. I for one would not want to have someone practicing their tattoo skills on my body, mainly because you will have to live that that not so great tattoo for the rest of your life. Also you may get some sort of infection or something worse because they “artist” may or may not know what they are doing.

Celtic Cross Tattoos – Let Your Skin Tell This Ancient Story

admin » 08 May 2009 » In Ankle Tattoos » No Comments

Celtic cross tattoos are the great reflection of deep belief and faith in God. If you want to convey some spiritual meaning, then the Celtic cross is the most fashionable way nowadays. Obviously the cross is the original symbol of God’s love for mankind

Many people believe that Celtic cross tattoos signify Christianity. However, the pagans have deep beliefs related with the cross symbol. For them, the cross is a symbol for fertility. It is also true that some others see the four points in the cross as representation of the four seasons, while others link them to four powerful elements that include Earth, Fire, Air and water. Celtic cross tattoos are admired by almost all tattoo enthusiasts regardless of any beliefs.

Certain groups of people thinks that Celtic cross tattoos refer to the permanence in life. They believe that the circle around the cross symbolizes life after death and they will commonly ink the designs to convey the love of God symbolizing the sheer sacrifice of the cross.

Quite often, Celtic cross tattoos include intricate knotworks that have neither beginning nor end. These knotworks are difficult to design and therefore require a talented tattoo artist. Though most of the designs are complicated with unending strands, some simple designs like single looped knots are also available. You can select either simple designs or complicated ones, but either way, the knots still look amazing.

Celtic cross tattoos complimented with a wheel or circle look awesome and many tattoo lovers choose to ink these more modern designs. The cross with wheels typically carries the most ornate symbol of Christianity. Before choosing a tattoo design, it is therefore worthwhile to choose the corresponding symbol to what you are trying to represent or express.

Celtic cross tattoos with triquetras are designed completely with knotworks. In fact, triquetras are one of the most wonderful designs in Celtic art. When combined with cross symbol, they offer fabulous looking artwork. The three points in triquetras stand for Father, son and Holy Spirit.

The most enticing feature of Celtic cross tattoos is the adaptability. You can reduce or enhance the size, allowing you to therefore wear a cross design anywhere on the body; anywhere from small ankle tattoos to full back pieces. The internet has ample amounts of Celtic cross tattoo designs. It is therefore easy to choose the perfect one as per your wish.

You can also join huge online galleries by paying a small up-front amount. This allows you to view thousands of tattoo designs, amongst these there are a considerable amount of Celtic cross tattoo designs. There are some combinational designs like cross with flowers, hearts, Jesus, Sun and moon. You can even design your own tattoo with the guidance of professionals. Be sure to check these sites out.

Generally, Celtic cross tattoos are designed in black and gray colors. Some parlors offer bright colors like red, blue, purple, violet etc to make the design awesome. It is worth to prefer a Celtic cross design in black backdrop with purple or blue color in the center, after looking at thousands of Celtic tattoo designs, the black backdrop always catches my eye.

Only a talented tattoo artist can design a Celtic Cross Tattoo, it is essential to spend some time selecting a great artist. It is also vital to assure the cleanliness in the tattoo parlor. Safety and hygiene enhances the pleasure of tattoo experience.

Tattoo Designs – Getting Inked With Artwork You Wont Regret

admin » 06 May 2009 » In Tattoo Designs » No Comments

Selecting tattoo designs to be inked into your body permanently is certainly a big headache decision to make. The things such as categories, size, color, line, complexity of design and etc are some of the criteria needed to be taken into consideration when trying to pick tattoo designs you love the most.

In a lot of cases, people end up regretting their own tattoo designs just after two weeks they were inked. Even though it is possible to get a tattoo removed, the cost of getting it removed is insanely pricey. To prevent this from happening, you should always take some time and find the perfect tattoo.

An important thing to keep in mind is the money factor. Never choose a studio or artist based on how cheap they are. Cheap or even free tattoo designs normally lack in quality, which is why they are able to charge cheaper prices. Instead, you should look for the best studio and artist that you can find close to your area. Even though it may be expensive, the quality and design will be well worth it in the long run, since your tattoo will most likely be permanent.

A common problem with selecting the right tattoo designs is just that. A lot of times, it can be hard to select the design you want. If you have an idea in mind but are still not sure what you want, you can always research. You can look in tattoo books, theme books, magazines, or simply do research online. By looking at designs you may find something similar to what you are interested in and end up liking it more. Along with selecting the right tattoo is the problem of where to put it on your body. Considerable time should go into selecting that as well.

Once you have found what you are looking for and where to put it, all you need to do is sit down with your tattoo artist and come up with your tattoo design. Every type of tattoo design has its own unique meaning. If you want to remember someone, you can always use a design or symbol that means something to you and reminds you of them or you can always use their facet. Good tattoo artists can make magical tattoos with meaning, whether it is someone’s face or a symbol that brings out meaning.

You won’t regret it later if you willing to spend some time to research it now. Your selected tattoo designs should be unique and hold meaning.

Things to Know About Tattoos

admin » 05 May 2009 » In Tattoos » No Comments

Getting the first tattoo can be a very hard decision for a lot of people. For some people just deciding what design to get is the problem while others may struggle with deciding what colors, size or where to place the tattoo. After all the other decisions have been made, please take some time to pick the right tattoo parlor for you. There are some different things to know about tattoos.

Most people understand the tattoo ink has been developed to last a life time. The style and design of the tattoo should not be made on a whim. If this is your first tattoo, please make sure this is something you will be comfortable about and proud of for the rest of your life. Never get a tattoo thinking that it can be removed later with the laser tattoo removal process, you should not consider even having the tattoo applied if you are thinking this. Certain colors will also have different meaning for different people to choose.

A good tattoo parlor can make almost any design that you can think of. Most of the tattoo artists think of the skin like a blank piece of canvas waiting to be developed. But do keep it realistic, the tattoo artist can only do so much. For example, the lower back tattoos can not be placed on your little finger. W

hile the placement of the tattoo is important to you, take the time to consider the loved ones around you. The idea of tattoos today is not as taboo as it was several years back but there are still some people that may be offended by them. Will your job allow you to show the tattoo or will it have to be covered up? Location is important in more ways then one.

Once the size, style, location and design of the tattoo has been decided, now it is time to find your tattoo parlor. You should take some time in choosing your tattoo parlor. Getting a tattoo is a very personal experience and you need to feel comfortable with the tattoo artist and with the tattoo parlor. If this is your first tattoo, take plenty of time to find a parlor that you feel good in. It is always a good idea to talk with the tattoo artist and make sure you are both in agreement with the work that is to be done. Tattoo safety is very important in todays society. If the tattoo artist is opposed to your ides, that the time to listen. The tattoo artist is the professional and is the one who works with the equipment and the pallet or the skin and knows better then the average person why something should not be done. Listen and learn is a good idea in this situation. If the tattoo artist is not comfortable with the design or placement of the tattoo, you may want to either reconsider the tattoo or the artist. This is the work of the artist and it will be seen for years and they want you to be proud of it;

admin » 20 March 2009 » In Tattoos FAQ » 9 Comments

I am going to get a small/medium sized tattoo on my lower back. I’m new to tattoos so I don’t really know how much a good tattoo should cost. So how much?

I know that different places will charge different amounts and details, color, size also play a part, but I’m asking overall. I don’t want to be shocked by a price or wondering if my tattoo artist isn’t as pro as I thought because it’s too cheap.

Thanks for any help.

The Key to a Perfect Tattoo Design

admin » 12 March 2009 » In Tattoo Designs » No Comments

Like all art forms, tattoos are a way of expressing to the world who you really are; and choosing the best tattoo design for you is critical because it’s a permanent symbol that holds meaning.

Getting a perfect tattoo design is not difficult, but you have to be patient and persistent. The real key to getting a great design is to start with great tattoo idea. So many people rush into getting inked without taking the time to think it through carefully.

Begin by asking yourself, “Will this tattoo design still look good in 10 years?” If you’re not sure, keep looking. The following tips will help you narrow down your choices and discover the perfect tattoo design for your personality.

One method is to find someone with a tattoo you absolutely love, and consider if there is some way to personalize it. You might even talk to a tattoo artist about the design and see if they have an idea to improve on it, or customize it to your personality.

Of course, you don’t want to just rip off someone else’s “tat.” But being influenced by someone else’s tattoo design is a whole different story. We all have influences on our individual style, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Another method is to look for a tattoo design has a special meaning to you personally. A tattoo is a reflection of who you are, and it should represent the qualities you see in yourself – loyalty, honesty, individuality or your sense of humor are few examples of this.

Taking time to research different symbols, phrases and patterns will help you select a tattoo design that describes your personality. If you are thinking about getting words inked onto your body, try different tattoo lettering styles.

Once you have a clue about the type of tattoo design you want, it’s time to start thinking about its location. The location of your tattoo is also symbolic of you and your personality, so it needs to “fit.” Remember, location is just as important as design. Arm or lower back tattoos are still popular amongst the influential youth however they are also viewed upon as common.

One of the best ways to get a great tattoo idea is to visit a well-respected tattoo artist. An artist who sees tattoos (both good and bad) all day long is your best guide when you rare trying to narrow down your choices for both your design and location.

A word of warning: if you run your idea by an accomplished tattoo artist and he/she doesn’t think its right for you–you should think long and hard before continuing with that specific tattoo. Tattoo artists are professionals, and the good ones seen it all have seen it all when it comes to tattoos–been there done that. If they don’t think your tattoo idea will work well for you, listen to them! They know what they are talking about.
